What does taking card payments cost?
We separate your processor’s fees from any booking platform commission. Enter your figures to compare the monthly bill, annual cost and cost per ride.
Currency labels the amounts; we do not convert them. Enter the fixed fee in the same currency.

How we calculate the cost
We multiply monthly card volume by the processor percentage, then add the number of transactions multiplied by the fixed fee. Platform commission is the same card volume multiplied by its percentage. We add both costs, multiply by twelve for the year and divide by the number of rides for cost per ride. The second scenario removes only the platform commission.
A worked example, not a provider quote
For 200 rides at €100.00, card volume is €20,000.00. At an EXAMPLE rate of 2% plus €0.20 per transaction, processing costs €440.00 a month. An EXAMPLE 3% platform commission adds €600.00: total €1,040.00 a month, €12,480.00 a year and €5.20 per ride. With no commission on top: €440.00 a month, €5,280.00 a year and €2.20 per ride.

What to check in your processor contract
Use your own contract and recent statements to choose the figures. A single percentage may only be an approximation.
Interchange++ or blended pricing
Check whether the quoted rate includes interchange and card scheme fees, or whether these are added separately. Check differences by card type and issuing country.
Refunds and chargebacks
Check which processing fees are retained after a refund and which fees apply to a dispute or chargeback.
Currency conversion
Check charges when the card, payment and settlement currencies differ. This calculator does not include conversion costs.
